When we first began navigating uncertainty, it was video that everyone turned to.
And although 2021 allowed us to leave our homes and experience a more “normal” life than we did the previous year, video has remained constant in both our personal and professional lives — the reason?
Video is the most powerful and important tool to keep people connected.
The opportunity video provides us to communicate from anywhere in the world is unmatched. Through video, nonprofits can raise awareness on their unique missions, while publishers share breaking news during these turbulent times. Global businesses can reach their customers around the world with localized video, or engage their remote workforce with video that humanizes corporate messages.
At the end of the day, we’re human, and video is a universal language we can all understand.
To our customers
As we continue to grow, we have you to thank — our customers and video creators. Above all that we learned in 2021, we discovered we’re more the same than we are different.
Although you come from different cultures, countries, and company missions, you have used video to share important stories and messages, all for the same reason: because video is the best way to do so.
Our customers continue to inspire us in the way you connect, communicate, and drive action with video. We are constantly seeking out new and better ways to serve you, and the magic you make with video.
I know the Wibbitz team and our customers have a shared understanding of the power of video, and that is why I am so excited about the next chapter for Wibbitz. Because this next chapter of our story will be as part of an even larger community of people who understand just how powerful video can be.
Looking back at 2021
We experienced a pivotal moment this year.
Wibbitz was acquired by Vimeo, the world’s leading all-in-one video software solution, bringing us a giant leap forward in our mission to empower every team with video. This partnership will not only bring an entirely new video creation experience to Vimeo’s customers, but it will offer Wibbitz customers better ways to manage, share, monetize, and maximize the reach of their videos with Vimeo’s suite of video solutions. Read some of my thoughts and thank you’s for everyone that made this happen here.
2021 brought surprises, challenges, and change for all of us. From shocking footage on January 6, a turning point for #FreeBritney, endless information on COVID-19, and a surge in mental health resources — it’s video that brought us through it all. Video is how you choose to tell these stories and share this information, because it brings that human element to both the good and the bad.
Here are some of the top stories you told through video in 2021:
Moving forward together
We enter 2022 with newfound vulnerability, adaptability, and strength that we’ve developed over the past year (or two).
We’re growing more comfortable in the uncertainty, and leaning into the things we do best. For us at Wibbitz, that’s empowering video creators.
As we look towards the year ahead, we’ve put some goals in place:
- Expand how we use video in our own marketing and employee communications.
- Help our customers engage their audiences to grow their business.
- Support global workforces to become more connected and productive.
- Help media companies to share the information we all rely on.
- Enable more ways to create human-centric video content.
2022 is sure to bring its fair share of ups and downs, but we’re ready for the ride. We know that by developing quality connections, establishing strong communication, and committing to authentic storytelling, we can get through pretty much anything. And we’re here to help you make that happen with video.
Here’s to endless video creation possibilities in 2022!
