Like video, podcasts are a great way to engage with your audience. In fact, there were an estimated 86 million podcast listeners in the U.S., a number which is forecast to grow to around 132 million by 2022. But how do you get your audience to listen to your podcast? According to Statista, social media is the most common source for discovering new podcasts. And as we know, video is the best performing content on social media platforms. So, turning your podcasts into social videos is the leading way to spread the word about your new audio experiences.
The best thing about turning your podcast into a video script is that half the work is already done for you. Your speakers are continually voicing opinions, facts, industry trends, and more, that can easily be turned into social video scripts.
Start by following these steps:
- Listen to your podcast all the way through
- Identify important phrases and who is speaking them
- Make sure you have the proper media assets: images/videos of speakers, logos of brands involved, etc.
Building your video script:
Scene 1-3: Choose a quote from the podcast that is exceptionally interesting, unique, controversial, or makes a good point – something that will make someone want to listen to the full recording, to hear it used in context. Break up this quote into multiple scenes, and keep the text in each scene short, simple, and engaging.
Scene 4: Showcase your speaker. Adding an image/video of your speaker will help humanize your video
Scene 5: Add a CTA to direct your audience to the full podcast
