FOX Sports Partners with Wibbitz, Empowering its Editorial Team to Produce Video

Sports audiences are increasingly turning to their mobile screens for up-to-date stats, recaps and analyses from their favorite news outlets. It’s critical for major sports publishers’ websites to provide these audiences with a full content package that they can easily and quickly consume wherever they are – and video has become a key element for an optimum mobile experience. We’re excited to announce that FOX Sports, the leading sports news publisher in the U.S., has chosen to implement Wibbitz’s automated video solution into their editorial content strategy, in order to enhance their website’s offering with engaging and top-quality video.

The FOX Sports video team worked closely with Wibbitz to create a custom Theme template that would fit their website’s branding and quality standards. With this Theme in place, FOX Sports was able to hand off the platform to their editorial team to supplement each of their articles with fully-branded video summaries. The FOX Sports’ entire editorial team is now using the platform, and has been able to produce 10-20 videos per day that share the same look and level of quality (and quantity) as the 10-20 videos simultaneously being produced by their video team.

“As a company that prides itself on its production and video quality, it’s really important that we’re turning in a very polished product. With Wibbitz, our editorial team can quickly and efficiently produce video that maintains the same level of quality and the same look that you see in everything we do.”

– Mike Foss, VP of News Properties at FOX Sports

FOX Sports sees their greatest spikes in website traffic occur in the evenings and over the weekends around live sports events, especially following major upsets like the Ronda Rousey fight back in December. With the Wibbitz platform, FOX Sports’ editorial team has video footage on hand as soon as an event occurs, and can create and publish a video to its corresponding article page within 6-8 minutes. Check out this video that they created with Wibbitz immediately following Ronda Rousey’s statement release about her stunning loss:
