New York/Paris, June, 2020 – Wibbitz, the leading automated video creation company, today announced that it has partnered with the Italy branch of global mass media company Condé Nast. The media conglomerate will be leveraging Wibbitz’s suite of automated video creation solutions to scale video production for seven of its Italian brands – Vogue Italia, Vanity Fair Italia, La Cucina Italiana, Traveller Italia, Wired Italia, GQ Italia, and AD. This partnership will help enrich the publisher’s video inventory to expand their monetization solutions for advertisers and maximize audience engagement across their digital channels.
With millions of daily users across its brands’ social channels and websites, Condé Nast has always recognized the value that video can bring to its business. The company needed a solution that would allow its existing team to multiply the volume of digital video tenfold, without sacrificing quality, to scale production across its growing portfolio of brands.
With this partnership, Condé Nast is leveraging two new solutions launched by Wibbitz earlier this year:
- Studio: An online video creation platform that makes professional video production easy for anyone, regardless of experience level.
- WAVI: An API product that enables fully automated video production using existing text content.
“Our mission is to provide both our readers and our advertisers with an optimal news experience for a wide variety of interests. As a leading media brand, there is always a critical need to diversify our offering and increase video output, which is why we’ve decided to leverage Wibbitz’s automated video creation solutions” says Marco Viganò, Chief Technology Officer, Condé Nast Italy. “Studio is so easy to use, and WAVI was so easy to implement – we only needed two of our engineers to integrate it into our system, and now we’re able to churn out thousands of videos a month.”
Condé Nast Italy’s editorial teams will be using both Studio and WAVI to produce original short-form video content for a variety of use cases including recipe videos for La Cucina, gossip news videos for Vanity Fair, fashion show coverage for Vogue, beautiful destinations for The Traveller, and more. Each video will be packaged with one of seven custom video templates created by Wibbitz, built to ensure that every video matches each Condé Nast brand’s identity.
Condé Nast plans to explore further applications for video automation in the future – for example, pairing Wavi with their own machine learning development technology, to generate videos based on user preferences for their various newsletters and websites.
“Video consumption has exploded in the last few years, with video now counting for more than 80% of global Internet bandwidth,” says Laurent Lasserre, Managing Director EMEA at Wibbitz. “We are experiencing a critical shift in the industry where automation is enabling global publishers like Condé Nast to produce video at massive scale, while improving efficiency and reducing costs.”
