We just reached a huge milestone for automated video, and we’re excited to share the news: Wibbitz raised $20 million in Series C funding! Check out our coverage on TechCrunch, MediaPost, AdExchanger, Recode, TheMarker, Globes, and Le Figaro. You can find the full press release here.
The timing of this funding round is no coincidence. Global demand for digital video is at an all-time high. Media companies all over the world have been rapidly adapting their workflows and embracing AI video creator technologies, to meet the needs of their digital audiences with visually engaging content.
As established innovators in the space, our newest investors and strategic partners at BDMI, The Weather Channel, AP, and TF1 Group understand first hand both the challenges and benefits that digital video storytelling presents. Their investment in Wibbitz is a testament to the potential of AI video generator technology, and we’re proud to have their backing as the best solution for producing premium digital video content at scale.
This announcement tops off an amazing year for Wibbitz – we’re now powering video creation for over 400 premium brands like Forbes, TMZ, and New York Daily News, we secured a patent for our one-of-a-kind AI technology, and we opened an office in Paris, France to expand automated video across the European market. Now that we’ve secured this investment, the sky is the limit for what we can accomplish… and we already have some ideas. Here’s what you can expect from Wibbitz in the coming year:
An even smoother and smarter video creation experience
Our amazing product and development team is constantly working to improve every aspect of the Wibbitz platform – from the Studio’s user experience and editing capabilities, to the speed and flexibility of the video creation workflow, to the accuracy and intelligence of our powerful AI technology. While every aspect of the platform will continue to improve, we have a pretty exciting launch in the works that will drastically improve our AI capabilities. Stay tuned!
New product capabilities for new markets
Up until recently, most of the users in our platform were from large news publishers. But we’ve always believed that the opportunities are endless when it comes to automated video, and we’re excited to start extending our unique offering to storytellers in many new markets and countries. For example, we recently partnered with Code for Africa, a nonprofit that seeks to empower ordinary people with digital democracy. We will continue to build new products and packages specifically for brands, marketers, nonprofits, and educators, and will add support for new languages, so that Wibbitz can bring the power of video storytelling to as many people as possible.
Expansion of our global team
Wibbitz would be nothing without the talented developers, editors, marketers, designers, sales and customer success managers, people operations experts and interns that make up the global Wibbitz family. And now that we have the bar set pretty high for the coming year, we’re looking to bring even more like-minded team members into our New York, Tel Aviv, and Paris offices, to reach our goals and truly put Wibbitz on the map.
